We have arranged a Scout Winter Camp for the weekend of 3-5 March 2017 at Northcombe Camping Barn, Northcombe Farm, Dulverton, Somerset. This beautifully converted watermill gives easy access to a network of footpaths and bridleways onto Exmoor and the Barle river valley. We will have the exclusive use of our own camping barn, complete with large kitchen/diner, pool/games room and large rear garden with fire pit and covered outdoor dining area. Accommodation is in bunk beds and the barn includes full kitchen, toilet and bathroom facilities.

Activities for the weekend will include hiking and navigation exercises, a Bakeoff competition, evening campfire and night-time wide games. The cost for the weekend will be £30 per person, including food and drink. However, because the accommodation is a substantial cost element, this event will not be viable for small numbers and can only go ahead if we get a good take-up. When we discussed this last term, Scouts were very keen for us to arrange this event, so please join is if you can.

To book your place please download the Nights Away form (link below) and return to Simon Miles, Group Scout Leader by Wednesday 1 February. Payment by cheque (payable to Bridestowe Scout Group) with your child’s name on the back or cash in an envelope with your child’s name on the front. No online payments for this activity please, in case we do not have sufficient numbers to go ahead and need to refund your payment.

Note: Scouts should eat before they arrive on Friday. We will only be providing snacks on Friday evening.
